The PROM Show!

Whether or not your prom was the idealistic night you always dreamed of, or an utter disaster...everyone has a story about their prom.

This is why WEEKENDSwithWHITNEY decided to join in the celebration of Prom in America. So, join us this weekend as we tell the stories of REAL people and their prom stories. You'll even get to know about Whit's personal prom story. Do you think it was everything she imagined or did the night turn out to be a flop? Take your guess and share it with us on Facebook or Twitter. Who knows, maybe you'll guess right!

Jennifer Christenson, a humanitarian award winner and first runner up - Miss Illinois USA, joins the show to discuss Miss Illinois USA and her mission to help young girls reach their full potential. Believe it or not, Jennifer started off as a nerdy girl in the hallway and was Pre-Med at University of MI all before she became Miss IL and a national media personality! She shares her most important life events...including PROM. She was also a big help in selecting one lucky girl to win our PROM GIVEAWAY!

Yes, that's right...PROM GIVEAWAY. We looked very hard to find a deserving young woman to send to prom - W3! Style! We found our winner at Whitney Young High School! NO, we didn't pick Whitney Young because it shares a name with our fabulous host. We chose them because there are leading schools when it comes to education and THEN there is Whitney Young. They are on the top of the school charts nationally and offer one of the best high school educations (as well as extra-curricular activities) in the country.

Our winner was nominated by school administrators as a student who is above and beyond the rest. Who is deserving of a memorable night! Be sure to tune in this weekend to see who our winner is, why she was so deserving, and how W3! is going to make her Prom a night to remember!

That's not all our episode has in store for you!

Ryan Beshel, Public Relations Coordinator - The 900 Shops, explains why The 900 Shops are a go to stop for every young woman shopping for the perfect prom dress. Also, he shares fashion trends and styles to look for this prom season.

Now, after all that fun we can't forget about one of the most important factors in securing the perfect prom....safety! We have a law enforcement guest who shares how Chicago's finest prepare for prom season and how they are keeping our young adults safe!

St. Patrick's Day FUN!

St. Patrick's Day brings a few things to mind; leprechauns, the color green, cabbage/corn beef, and if you're a ChiRish - the Green River.

WEEKENDSwithWHITNEY is excited to celebrate St. Patrick's Day as a true Chicagoan as we bring you an amazing episode full of all things "GREEN."

We start the show off with Murphy's Bleachers in Wrigleyville. They share their St. Patty's traditions; from green beer, corned beef, and their very own St. Patrick's Day contests. They shed light on why this holiday brings the green out in all of us!

Next up is Jamie Keeton but you may know him as "Can Head." You may have seen him from NASCAR or maybe even the Ellen DeGenerous show. Can Head has been featured at some of the top social and sporting events in the nation. He is one of 4 people in the world with natural body magnetism. Which means, the cans are legitimately magnetized to his skin. No gimmicks, no tricks, just pure science and a little bit of the unexplained. Learn how Can Head took his natural ability to the next level, (from pouring green beer off of his head, to sharing laughs and smiles with children at local hospitals), he brings charm and ability to the W3! show.

The WORLD famous Trinity Irish Dancers bring joy and excitement to fans across the globe and we're lucky enough to get them to sit still long enough for an amazing interview. They explain the traditions of their art form and the significance of Irish dancing in America. Don't miss this segment as the Irish Dancers teach Whitney a thing or two about dancing. Based on her line dancing roots, it's a segment full of laughs that you don't want to miss!

Lastly, W3! has a little fun with the idea of 'Irish Luck!' We all have superstitions but how much do they actually affect our decisions? Join Whitney as she brings along some pictures of unlucky items and breaks every "luck rule."

With Irish tradition in tow, Whitney will ask 3 people about their ideas on luck, and THEN ask them for their best 5 second Irish jig. Find out who does it best as Can Head and the Trinity Irish Dancers vote on the winner of these 3 Unlucky/Lucky Chicagoan's. The winner will be invited to our show's 1st Birthday Party in April.

Spring Cleaning

When you think of "SPRING CLEANING" do you think of cleaning your home? Maybe cleaning out your closets or under your beds? Well, WEEKENDSwithWHITNEY thinks spring cleaning is something much more!

This week W3! is going to look at both sides of spring cleaning. We feel that there is no point in coming home to a beautiful home if you do not feel amazing yourself.

This weekend you'll learn how to, not only have beautiful landscaping and home organization; but how YOU can feel and look amazing.

Dr. Rose Mary Cairo, Psychotherapist, claims the first step to any spring cleaning (for your home or yourself) is getting in the right state of mind. Dr. Cairo is an expert on developing a strong self image, no matter what you are facing. Find out how simple it can be to clean out your mind of some of the clutter we all hold on too.

Laine Broder RN, BSN - Aesthetic Nurse Injector - Transcend MedSpa, explains some small steps we can all take to prepare for the spring season. From skin creams to facial fillers, and all the laser treatments along the way, Broder will discuss treatments that will give us the glow we are looking for going into spring and summer. Does Whitney need botox like she thinks she does? Find out this weekend!

Gail Schick, 1-800-GOT JUNK, we have all seen the trucks, but what is the story behind the "junk trucks." 1-800-GOT JUNK has been seen everywhere from the streets of Chicago to A&E’s Hoarders. Gail is going to take a look at how simple it could be to clean out that garage or extra space simply by making a phone call. From organizing tips to cleaning up that BIG mess you have been avoiding for years. If you can’t get the motivation to make the call on your own, Gail will share with you how you can do it for good cause. 1-800-GOT JUNK is a leader in recycling your old junk, but more importantly, donations to local charities.. What is the weirdest thing 1-800-GOT JUNK has pulled out of a Chicago home? Make your guess on our facebook or twitter and find it you're right!

Jim Gorsline, Scott Byron & Co. - Property Improvement Division, says that a clear mind, beautiful face, and an organized home can all be put to shame if our landscaping is lack luster. Scott Byron & Co. is an award winning landscape architect, design, and maintenance company based in Lake Bluff. From large scale design projects, like Chicago’s famed Water Tower Place, to property maintenance for homes in YOUR neighborhood, Gorsline will be here to talk about services and more importantly, cost savings to the overall health of your “Curb Appeal,” through routine property maintenance. With the housing market coming back in full swing in 2012, experts say that one of the best ways to increase your property value and prep for sale. Do you know what de-thatching is? How do people make there scrubs look so groomed all year long? Find with with us in this amazing new episode!
